Summer Observing Opportunities

While Stickney Observatory is closed for most of the summer, we will have two special viewing opportunities this summer, in collaboration with our local libraries and the Universe of Stories summer reading program.

On Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 8:30pm (Cloud night: July 10), in collaboration with North Bennington’s John G. McCullough Free Library, we will host an astronomy night, including observing. We will meet in Room 232 of the Dickinson Science Building on Bennington’s campus (see #4 on this map). If it is cloudy, we will delay to July 10 at 8:30pm. Check back here after 5pm on July 9 to verify on which night we will have observing.

On Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 8:45 pm (Cloud Date: August 7), in collaboration with the Bennington Free Library, we will hold observing at the observatory (see #7 on this map). If it is cloudy, we will delay until August 7 at 8:45pm.
Check back here after 5pm on August 6 to verify on which night we will have observing.
