Looks like skies will be clear tonight. Come out to the observatory at 8 to see cool astronomical objects. Bring your family and friends!
The clouds (and, perhaps, rain) make observing tonight impossible (9/23). Tomorrow (Saturday, 9/24) looks a lot better. Check back here after 5pm on Saturday to be sure we’ll be out there, but it is forecasted to be a crisp, clear night.
Below is the observing schedule for the Fall 2016 term. Remember that observing can only happen if it’s clear, so make sure to check back here (or on Twitter: @StickneyObs) on the evening of observing. The nights for the Spring are:
- Thursday, October 6 at 7:30pm
- Thursday, October 20 at 7:00pm
- Thursday, November 3 at 7:00pm
- Thursday, November 10 at 7:00pm
- Thursday, December 1 at 7:00pm
We do not have any planned observing nights over the summer. Check this space in early September for observing dates for the Fall term.
It looks like it’s going to be hazy tonight, so observing night has been cancelled.
This was going to be the last observing night of the term – so thank you to everyone who came out to all the other nights! Be sure to check back in September for next term’s schedule!
Observing night has been cancelled for tonight due to weather. Our next scheduled night will be on Wednesday, May 11 at 9pm. Hopefully we’ll see you there!
It looks like it will be cloudy well into the evening, so observing night has been cancelled for tonight. Our next one is scheduled for April 26 at 9pm – hope to see you all there!
The sky is clear, so we will have observing tonight, starting at 8:30!
Despite the beautiful morning, it’s unfortunately going to be cloudy into the evening. Our next Public Observing Night is Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 8:30pm. See you there!
It was looking like it might have been clear for a while there despite the forecast, but those clouds sure came in fast…
The next night is Wednesday, March 16 at 8pm.
